CHERYL ELAINE LAWS WALKER

Cheryl Elaine Laws Walker grew up in a rural part of Travis County, Texas now incorporated as Mustang Ridge. She is a graduate of Del Valle High School and Southwest Texas State University (B.S.).

In 1974 Cheryl married James David Walker. During their married life, Cheryl and James have lived in several Texas towns: La Grange, Giddings, Post, Austin, and (now) Milano.

Cheryl is the Milam County extension agent. This involves communicating Texas A & M University consumer information through various means, including the following: 4-H clubs; adult clubs; a weekly newspaper column; and, a periodic newsletter.

Cheryl’s collection of Santa figures has grown to epic proportions. Her research into the origins of Santa Claus has been reduced to rough written form and requests for the Santa program presented jointly by Cheryl and her sister Chris Holcombe exceed their ability to comply. Additionally, Cheryl’s interest in herb cultivation and cookery gave rise to a program that Cheryl has presented to numerous groups (some local and some not-so-local).

Cheryl and James share an interest in genealogy. They are both members of the Milam County Genealogical Society.
